2019 & 2020 Retreats

We’re excited to announce two events for 2019 and a sneak peak of  what’s coming in 2020.

Tickets for both 2019 events are now on sale until they sell out!

2019 Events

We’ll have two Cents Positive events in 2019, held consecutive weekends to encourage attendees to pick one or the other, to maximize the number of women who can attend.

New in 2019:

  • Larger, more comfortable event space
  • Childcare for those who need it
  • Total focus on those aiming for or who’ve already achieved a work-optional life, not on bloggers

2020 Events

In 2020, there will be at least three Cents Positive events, including:

  • Cents Positive on the east coast
  • Cents Positive Canada
  • Cents Positive for Couples, a new format welcoming any couple or person who is coupled up who wants to talk about how someone else in your money affects your journey

Keep on eye on the 2020 events page for more info.

Which 2019 event should I choose?

If the location makes no difference to you, here are some things to consider:

The Seattle event will be held close to downtown, where you can walk to many things, but might also be more tempted to take time out of the retreat. The Chicago event is in airport strip mall land, so there’s less to do, but less temptation to draw your focus away from the retreat. (Though the Chicago hotel sits right next to the train that will take you downtown, if you wish to see the city while you’re there.)

Prices for rooms in both locations are similar (and a great value, especially if you share with a roommate or two!), and both locations offer multiple other hotels nearby, if you prefer to stay with a different chain than Marriott/SPG. If you’re more the Airbnb type, Seattle will give you more options nearby.

The Seattle hotel has no pool (despite what their site says — it was filled in to create more meeting space, which we’ll be benefiting from!), while the Chicago site has an indoor pool.
